VGLUG is dedicated to empowering rural college students through technology education.
As part of this initiative, we conduct weekly training sessions on Python With GenAI and DevSecOps..
Due to the large number of participants, the training is organized into six teams:
- Python & GenAI – Linus Torvalds(Team 1) & Grace Hopper(Team 2): Assigned to Engineering students
- Python & GenAI – Richard Stallman(Team 1) & Aron Swatz (Team 2): Assigned to Arts and Science students
- DevSecOps – Ada Lovelace (Arts) & Bob Thomas (Engg): Comprising both Engineering and Arts students
These sessions focus on practical knowledge of Python, GenAI, DevSecOps, free and open-source tools, and also include social awareness and community engagement activities.
Python With GenAI Training – First Week Recap

The first week of our training began with an orientation session led by Sathish. During the session, he introduced all the trainers. Following this, participants were divided into six groups as outlined above.

Python With GenAI – Team 1 & Team 2 (Engineering)
Session 1: Introduction to Programming
In this session, Deepak and Kanimozhi introduced the basics of programming languages. They explained how programming languages were invented, their evolution, and their significance in today’s technological world.
The session was conducted for one hour due to the participants’ upcoming exams the next day.
Python With GenAI – Team 1 & Team 2(Arts)
Session 1: Introduction to Programming
In this session, Sathish, Kowsalya and Dilip introduced the basics of programming languages. They explained how programming languages were invented, their evolution, and their significance in today’s technological world.
Session 2: Kick Start to Python
Kowsalya, Sathish and Dilip handled the second session, which was focused on giving a kick start to Python. They covered fundamental concepts and provided a solid foundation for the participants to build upon in the upcoming sessions.
We are forming internal groups of 5 members each to work on future projects and to provide participants with early team experience.

DevSecOps is the practice of integrating security measures directly into the DevOps process. It emphasizes collaboration between development, security, and operations teams to ensure that security is a shared responsibility throughout the software development lifecycle. By embedding security early and continuously, DevSecOps helps deliver secure, reliable software faster and more efficiently.
