Session 2

Open street map – Sabapathy

OPPS concepts

Vijiyalakshmi has handled this session. She explained the Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) is a paradigm that uses the concept of “objects” to model real-world entities and solve complex programming problems. The fundamental concepts that drive OOP are Encapsulation, Abstraction, Inheritance, and Polymorphism. And she explained each concept with real time example.

Open street map

Sabapathy handled this session. He explained OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a free, open geographic database updated and maintained by a community of volunteers via open collaboration. And, he also explained how to download and use the app. He conducted a practical session to the students how to edit the location and how to publish that. He defined the difference of google maps and OSM, Google Maps introduces a better user interface and seamless UX, but OSM offers unlimited access to the entire dataset and more detailed maps.
