AI/ML with Python and Cyber Security Training 2023 – Session #1 – 23/Apr/2023

Hello all,

VGLUG sharing various technology knowledge to rural college students. As part of it we are doing AI/ML with Python and Cyber Security Training class every week. The training is divided into three teams due to huge number of participants. Engineering students are in AI/ML with Python Team 1, Arts & Science students are in AI/ML with Python Team 2 and overall cyber security participants are in a separate team. In this training we share knowledge about AI/ML with Python and Cyber Security , Free software technologies, tools and social activities.

Minutes of meet

  • This week  Python session was handled by sathish. He explained about working of Computer and it’s importance.
  • He explained about RAM and ROM with an example.
  • Kowsalya explained need of FOSS , 4 Freedoms and varieties of distros in GNU/Linux.
  • She explained about disadvantages of proprietary software and advantages of using the open source softwares.
  • A student from class discussed about viduthalai movie.

Minutes of meet

  • This week AI/ML with Python Team 2 session was handled by Vijayalakshmi, Karkee & Ethiraj.
  • Participants introduced themselves and shared about their hobbies and goals.
  • Vijayalakshmi explained what is Computer, how it works & importance. Then, she discussed about the history of computer and she explained the purpose of the computer in this world. She introduced the Free and Open source softwares. In this talk she covered what is FOSS, need of FOSS and she explained the 4 Freedoms and varieties of distros in GNU/Linux. Then, she spoke about Richard Matthew Stallman, and explained his campaign for GNU Projects.
  • Karkee spoke about why FOSS and why it is important to our society. Also, he discussed with some examples about proprietary vs FOSS tools. Then, Karkee spoke to the participants about the difficulties they faced in attending the sessions and gave some suggestions to overcome them.
  • Finally Ethiraj conducted a discussion with participants, about foss and computer related things.
  • This week class was attended by around 35+ peoples
