Hello all,
VGLUG is sharing various technology knowledge with rural college students. As part of this initiative, we conduct weekly AI/ML with Python and Cyber Security training classes. The training is divided into three teams due to a large number of participants. Engineering students are assigned to AI/ML with Python Team 1, Arts & Science students to AI/ML with Python Team 2, and overall cybersecurity participants are in a separate team. During these sessions, we share knowledge about AI/ML with Python, Cyber Security, free software technologies, tools, and social activities.

Minutes of the Meeting:
- This week’s AI/ML with Python session was handled by Deepak and Sathish.
- In the first session, Deepak explained the definition and usage of regex in detail. He provided explanations about each type of meta-character in regex along with an example problem.
- The second session was conducted by Sathish. He demonstrated the Blender 3D animation tool with some animated examples. Students were eager to learn about the basics of Blender software.
- This week’s session was attended by approximately 10 students.

- This week’s AI/ML with Python session was han by Vikneshwaren, Viji, and Hari Priya.
- In the first half of the session, a Python revision was conducted. Then, a problem statement was given to the students for solving it. Students were eagerly involved and successfully solved the problems.
- The second session was led by Hari Priya. She has given an introduction to what fake news is and how to counter it using seven basic fact-checking factors. She also gave examples of fake videos/photos and explained how they are generated.
- This week’s session was attended by approximately 15 students.

- This week’s Cyber Security session was handled by Loganathan V.
- He explained about network security and cryptography essentials. He discussed about building digital fortresses to guard against online threats, covering topics from firewalls to secure communication.
- Curious about how messages maintain privacy online? That’s where cryptography plays a crucial role. Loganathan also explined about the art of securing information, from historical roots to modern encryption methods and important aspects of cryptography.
- Second session was taken by Hari Priya about Fake news awareness. She has given an introduction to what fake news is and how to counter it using seven basic fact-checking factors. She also gave examples of fake videos/photos and explained how they are generated.
- This week’s session was attended by 8 students.
